Back at Hokkaido, Jane and Sadie make their way back to the hotel with a very depressed look on their faces. They were both robbed, and wanted to get out of the country as soon as possible to try and save face and get over this embarrassing feeling they both had from the opening round of the Sakura Cup. They felt like they failed both WWR and One Wrestle Movement for having lost to that cheating tramp and the coattail rider. It was about 9pm in Japan, and they had every intention on going to bed early to catch the first flight out, when the phone began to ring, and Jane answered.
Jane Adler
"Hello?"
Michael Showtime
"Hey Regulators, how's Japan treating you?"
The voice on the other end was none other than WWR Owner Michael Showtime, checking in on his tag team as they are overseas. Jane would sigh, as Sadie did her best to not voice what happened, as she explained.
Jane Adler
"Not great... we were knocked out the opening round. Sadie and I feel like we've really let everyone down."
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a moment before the owner spoke again.
Michael Showtime
"Hey, you didn't let me down. You didn't let WWR down. You flew across the planet to compete in a tournament. You fought your asses off and came up short. These things happen! You all are a young tag team...you'll rebound from this! No doubt!
Showtime says trying to give his tag team a pep talk. Sadie overheard his statement, as the words she heard earlier that night ran through her head... "we're not reviewing the footage for some rookie team. She's the bigger money draw, anyway." It made her blood boil, while Jane thanked him.
Jane Adler
"I hope you're right, Mr. Showtime. We still feel awful about this entire ordeal..."
Michael Showtime
"But why? Why do you feel bad for losing a match? If I felt bad for every match I lost early on in my career I probably wouldn't have gotten very far. Think of it as a learning experience, rise up and move on. You gotta let matches like this roll off your back, tournaments like these are a dime a dozen. You will wrestle in hundreds of more tournaments before your careers are said and done."
Jane Adler
"Yeah... I guess you're right. Thank you, Mr. Showtime... we still feel like trash, and are going to try to make the first flight back home that we can."
Michael Showtime
"Fair, safe travels. We can have a meeting when you all are back in the states and maybe carve out a path for you both to make you feel better."
Jane hangs up the phone, as Sadie would scowl at her, before adding her two cents to that conversation.
Sadie Cassidy
"What a crock of shit... we had them beat at nearly every corner, and they wouldn't even consider looking at footage to see that tramp hitting me with her knuckles."
Jane Adler
"I know, Sadie... I know. You've gotta let it go at some point, though."
Sadie Cassidy
"Why should we? They're the ones in the wrong! I'm sick and tired of being disrespected because we play nice. I'm tired of being pushed aside because we're a young team! It's not fair to us, and I think it's high time we start forcing people to pay attention to us."
She said with a heated growl, as Jane knew she had no chance of calming down her hotheaded partner.
Jane Adler
"Sadie... you can't let this eat away at you. We'll probably never get a chance to fight them again if you keep acting up. Let's bide our time, Sadie. We'll get a chance for redemption soon enough... I promise."
Jane said, as Sadie was still not happy in the slightest, and still wondered how she could even think out not wanting to tear their heads off.
Sadie Cassidy
"I'm going to bed. Good night."
She said, shutting off the conversation and killing the lights while Jane sighed briefly.
Jane Adler
"Fine.. I'm going out for some air.
She said, knowing Sadie was struggling and really taking the blow very hard. Jane would go give her some space, as she opened their room's door and closed it behind her, as we fade to black.
