First off, I want to thank those who are reading for your time today. I know that in the days we are all currently living in that your time is a valuable thing. I appreciate you for entrusting me with a few minutes of such. I will attempt to get straight to the point.
Last week, the paperwork went through for my purchase of the assets of the wrestling promotion Women's Wrestling Revolution. After shutting down suddenly at the end of March I have been in touch with my lawyers and friends within the wrestling industry about acquiring the company. While it was not an easy endeavor by any means, I am proud to announce that I am not only the new owner of WWR but that the company will return to live in-ring action later this year.
I know most of you only know me as a pro wrestling hall of famer from back in the day, or more currently, the husband of Eliza Frost...or maybe the ex husband of Bobbi Jackson. But what you might not remember is that in the late 2000s I ran a very successful all women's wrestling company called Ring of Beauty.
The company ran strong for quite a few years until we unfortunately were forced to close our doors and shut down. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Ring of Beauty or the talents that we had on our roster there. Some of which were also part of the roster here at WWR.
When WWR shut down, I will admit. I toyed around with the idea of relaunching Ring of Beauty in the year 2020. But I also considered that since the company closed down over a decade ago that it might be best to leave the legacy of Ring of Beauty in the past where it belongs. Leave the memories alone, so to speak.
So I put all of my time and resources into obtaining the WWR brand and bringing it back, not only for the wrestling fans all over the world. But the incredible roster that was left with one less place to work. In a time when we can all use some job stability, that was a top concern of mine.
As far as the WWR staff is concerned, I retained the rights to the contracts of Alexis Rose and Monica Powers, the fantastic commentary team. Arianna Grey, our incredibly talented ring announcer. And of course, Katrina Showtime. Our lead interviewer and for full disclosure, my little sister. The rest of the staff will not be returning for the launch of WWR later this year.
That brings me to the roster. While I have the contracts in hand of every single female performer who worked with WWR in March. I simply wouldn't feel right demanding you return to work. Some have moved on, some were friends with the previous regime. I understand all of that. But what I can promise you, if you choose to sign a new contract with WWR, is job stability of a company that isn't going anywhere and the best wrestling competition on the planet. I believe that no company will be more fun to work with than us and I will bend over backwards for my roster to ensure that is the case.
Furthermore, if you held championship gold in WWR when the company closed and you return to the company now. You will continue to be recognized as the current title holder. That goes for the following talent...
Susan Rigger - World Champion
Eliza Frost-Showtime - Revolutionary Champion
Christina Zdunich - Battleground Champion
Envy Ellis - Goddess of the Cage Champion
Charlotte Haliday - Chaos Champion
Tiger Pride (Super Tiger and Zoe Jane) - World Tag Team Champions
If you choose not to return however, the championship will be declared vacant and a new champion will be decided on a future edition of Battleground.
In closing, I just want to say, thank you for reading and I hope to meet you all in person soon. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me on my personal Twitter account @mrmikeshowtime.
The Revolution will be televised once again in 2020. Stay tuned for more information soon!
Sincerely,
Michael Showtime
